What it is

Companies House and HMRC run on separate calendars, both keyed to dates set at incorporation rather than to the calendar year. Founders operating from another time zone miss them, and the penalties are automatic and escalating. This is the calendar we build at the end of a structuring engagement, as a document you complete yourself.

Contents
  • A spreadsheet that takes your incorporation date and accounting reference date and returns every deadline for the first twenty-four months
  • Companies House obligations: confirmation statement, first accounts, subsequent accounts, and the event-driven filings with their own deadlines
  • HMRC obligations: notifying that the company is active, the corporation tax return, the payment date that falls before it, VAT returns once registered, and PAYE real-time reporting
  • The obligations founders discover late: ICO data protection registration, the persons-with-significant-control register, and the duties that begin with a first UK hire
  • A penalty schedule showing what each missed deadline costs and how it escalates
  • A two-page companion explaining, in plain English, what each filing is and who reads it
What it does not cover
  • Tax advice. It tells you when a filing is due, not what to put in it
  • Any filing on your behalf — you or your accountant file
  • Sector-specific regulatory filings, which depend on what your company does
  • A substitute for a UK accountant. It is the calendar your accountant will assume you already have
